As part of the internationalization of productive activities and the strategic importance attributed to attracting foreign investments, the Italian Government has decided to launch the sale of the assets and business activities of ILVA S.p.A. („ILVA”) and Acciaierie d’Italia S.p.A. („ADI”), both of which were admitted to the extraordinary administration procedure in 2015, as well as other companies belonging to their respective groups. ILVA and ADI are companies based in Italy, operating in the production, processing, and commercialization of steel products, including through the operation of industrial plants of national strategic interest.
To this end, the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy has authorized a specific call for expressions of interest. Among the objectives of the sale procedure are the development of steel production in Italy, the implementation of environmental protection measures aimed at reducing CO2 emissions, and the commitment to the decarbonisation of production processes, in accordance with national and European regulations. Additionally, the protection of employment levels is foreseen, with the aim of significantly reducing the use of social safety nets, while maintaining a constant dialogue with social partners.
The sale procedure also aims to provide activities and forms of compensation for local communities and to preserve the continuity of the business complexes of the Companies under extraordinary administration, with the goal of quickly restoring them to peak levels of activity.
The notices are available in English on the websites https://www.gruppoilvainas.it and https://www.gruppoacciaierieditaliainas.it. Expressions of interest may be submitted by September 20, 2024.
